Live Wedding Painting

As an artist who began my art career as a mural painter over 30 years ago, I’ve become very comfortable painting in front of people and talking at the same time. I’ve worked in private homes, where I have created nurseries that inevitably become the favorite room in the house, and I’ve painted entire hallways in  Children’s hospitals, where I’ve had some of the most tender and emotional interactions of my entire career. 

I have been so fortunate to create special artwork for people whose lives continue to be touched long after I’ve finished the work.

One of the things I love most about painting for people is including their input into the design process.  It feels like a collaboration to me and I thrive in collaboration, whether it’s mostly the client’s vision with only my skills and experience needed to create the art, or if it’s mostly me and just a tiny bit of input from the client.

As much I love painting on-site, over the last 15 years, I’ve transitioned away from murals and towards painting large-scale commissioned artwork from my studio. This has been a wonderful experience for a lot of reasons, but it has also reduced the opportunities to interact with people while I paint. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until recently when I had the honor of being invited to be one of the live painters at an exclusive vendor event at the beautiful Huntington Club in Huntington Beach, CA. The experience reminded me of just how much I enjoy creating art for special occasions and chatting with people while I do so.

I enjoyed myself so much that I am adding “Live Event painter” to my list of the services I offer.

If you choose me to be your Live Event painter, 

You can expect:

• me showing up with the skills I’ve acquired from the 30+years of experience as a professional artist

• a beautiful painting- in oil or acrylic, or a combination of both, either 30” x 22” or 36” x 24”. Custom sizes are available.

• The painting will be on a cradled wood panel or stretched canvas.

• framing is an option

• organized

• present well

• friendly

• early is my kind of “on time.”

so, to that end I will:

• meet with you either in person or over the phone prior to your event to discuss:

  • what part of your day you’d like me to capture

  • the “feel” of the painting

  • the color scheme

  • any other important details

Pricing starts at $2500.

Serving Southern California: Travel fee if destination is farther than 60 min one-way drive time.
